Hoopla has a whole bunch of Hallmark movies and I (a) enjoy basic romances and (b) sometimes want to watch something that takes minimal attention and brain space. Mostly, this is fine. I watch them and move on with my life. But then I watched A Country Wedding (side note: I watched it in part because I like Autumn Reeser, but you could replace her in any scene with Lacey Chabert and no one would notice) and woke up the next morning with a lot of questions, to the point that I would consider writing post-movie fic if I were at all a horse girl.

I watched The Witcher last weekend, but I wasn't feeling well and was kind of out of it, so I felt like I didn't really get it, although I knew enough to understand jokes and read fic. This weekend, I googled a timeline explainer (things in the show take place across multiple timelines, and I got how two of them fit together but couldn't figure out when Yennefer's story was in relation to the others), and re-watched it while paying attention and with captions on (I usually dislike them, but I thought maybe reading it would help make it make more sense). I get it much better now, and also some things I have thought about:

Happy Halloween! Welcome to the eighth annual edition of virtual trick-or-treating.

Knock or ring the bell by leaving me a comment, and I'll reply with a treat of some sort. It might be a fic snippet, a picture, a song, or something else I come up with in the moment. My intention is to post all treats before I go to bed on Halloween. Lurkers and anonymous trick-or-treaters are welcome! (But if you're posting anonymously or with an LJ account that is completely friends-locked and you want a treat specific to your interests, let me know something about why you know me.)

Usually Tylers househusband fic/plot bunnies are about TBrown being the househusband, but I thought it would be interesting to play around with that: what if TSegs had to retire and went to be TBrown's househusband? (This was more reality compliant when I originally wrote it; I last worked on it in May 2014.)

Given how long Jeff and Megan have been together, she was probably around in the summer of 2010 when Danny was partying with Jeff. I was throwing out ideas about this, and [livejournal.com profile] lakeeffectgirl called it "Megan's Guide to Dating Danny Briere." If I'd written this as a story, that would have been the title, and it would have been broken up into sections with Megan's advice as the section headers. Instead, there are just some bits of it that I played around with.

I only ever wrote a couple of tiny snippets of this, but it would have been five hockey players Sid slept with plus one he didn't, where Geno is the one. I never figured out who all of the five were, but I did write some tiny bits about three of them.

This is a companion of sorts to the Pears/Richie kneeling AU. (Well, actually the Pears/Richie was supposed to be adjacent to this, but that's the one I wrote.) While Tanner is assigned to Mike, Tyler is assigned to Jeff. I talked a lot about this, but never actually wrote the story. There's also a Mike and Jeff talking about Pears bit in here.

I'm idly thinking about a name on the wrist story where Brandon's wrist says Alex and Maripier's wrist says Etienne, and they fall in love and make a life together anyway. Plot Bunny/Snippet )

I've talked a lot about how there should be D/s AU fic where Mike is a sub. I never actually wrote this story, but it would be something like five Kings who took care of Mike on a temporary basis plus one who was permanent. Plot Bunny )

Before Nikita Scherbak got sent back to Juniors, I wrote some snippets about him being around. This is one of them. Warning for homophobic attitudes by a character whose actual values I know nothing about.

The original idea for this was that Danny is a hooker and both Sid and Claude are his clients. Somehow they find out about each other, and then they're forever competing with each other by giving Danny extravagant gifts or large tips or whatever. I only ever wrote the scene where Claude meets Danny's kids and notes about the scene after that. (The alternate version would be that without the structure of hockey, Danny and Sylvie don't get married as early/at all and Danny never has kids.)

This is another one of those somewhat melodramatic things I wrote before it became clear that the Stars adore Segs and he's doing just fine there.
