Usually Tylers househusband fic/plot bunnies are about TBrown being the househusband, but I thought it would be interesting to play around with that: what if TSegs had to retire and went to be TBrown's househusband? (This was more reality compliant when I originally wrote it; I last worked on it in May 2014.)
The guy who answers the door isn't Brownie, so he must be the roommate. Ryan? Josh? Something like that.
"Hi," Tyler says. "I'm here to see Brownie."
"Uh, yeah, come in. Brownie," the roommate calls, "it's for you."
Brownie comes out of what's probably the kitchen. He smiles at Tyler and says, "Ryan, go make sure nothing burns."
Tyler ignores Ryan going to the kitchen and walks right into Brownie's arms. Brownie wraps him up into one of his awesome hugs and lets Tyler just breathe against his neck for a while.
"Sorry I didn't call," Tyler says after a couple of minutes.
"It's okay." Brownie presses a kiss to the side of his head. "You're welcome anytime." He draws back so only one arm is around Tyler's shoulders. "Are you hungry?"
"Yeah," Tyler says. He hasn't eaten much today.
"I was planning to have leftovers," Brownie says, "but I guess you could eat some of it instead."
Brownie introduces Tyler to Ryan for real, and takes back his control of the kitchen. Ten minutes later they're sitting around one end of a giant dining room table with plates of pasta, chicken, quinoa, and broccoli.
Tyler stops eating when he feels full, no reason to force his body to take in more calories when he doesn't have anything he needs them for.
Tyler and Brownie leave Ryan to clean up the kitchen while they settle onto the couch, Tyler's head in Brownie's lap, to watch TV for a while.
Brownie nudges Tyler up when it's time for bed with the explanation that he has practice in the morning.
They brush their teeth side by side in the bathroom, and settle together into Brownie's bed. Brownie kisses Tyler softly. Tyler kisses back until he yawns, and Brownie chuckles.
"Tired?"
"It was a long drive," Tyler says. Brownie leaves it there, and Tyler falls asleep to the comfortingly familiar sound of Brownie breathing.

Tyler's shoulders slump when he hears the front door open. He's idly stirring the pan on the stove when Brownie comes into the kitchen and puts an arm around him.
"I was trying to make lunch," Tyler says, "but I think I ruined it."
Brownie hmms and presses a kiss to Tyler's cheek. "Hey, Ryan," he calls. "Come try this."
Ryan does, and then looks at them both with an uncomfortable look on his face. "Um."
Tyler slumps even more. "Fuck," he says.
"Well," Brownie says, "we'll just make something else."
"I don't want to make something else," Tyler says, fully aware he's whining. "I wanted this to work."
"New recipes don't always work the first time." Brownie hugs Tyler. "If you clean this up, I'll make lunch."
Tyler cleans up in less time than it takes Brownie to make something else and goes into the living room to throw himself on the couch and sulk.
Brownie brings him a plate and sits with him while they eat, and then goes to take his nap.
Tyler gets off the couch close to the time Brownie usually wakes up and goes in to lie down next to him. "Sorry," he says when Brownie wakes up.
Brownie strokes his hair. "We're going on a back-to-back roadie next week. We won't be home much. Maybe you should go up to Toronto."
Tyler's heart drops, but Brownie keeps talking.
"Get the rest of your clothes and stuff, bring Marshall down. Uh, if you're staying. You're staying, right?"
"I, yeah," Tyler says. "It's cool if I bring Marshall?"
"I love Marshall," Brownie says. "And I checked with Ryan, and he's cool with it."
"Okay, yeah, I'll do that," Tyler says. "And I'll try to be less of a dick."
Brownie smiles at him. "Yeah," he says, "that'll be good too."

Tyler heads down to Boston for a few days around Brownie's game in Providence. He still has a lot of friends in Boston, even if he usually isn't up for the same kind of crazy stuff they used to do, and he spends his time catching up with them, checking out the familiar sights of Boston.
He's not really doing anything in particular, just wandering around to take in how the place feels, when he spots a familiar face. "Naoko!"
She turns, spots him, and smiles. "Tyler. Hi." She shows no hesitation in hugging him. "Are you back in Boston?"
"Just for a couple of days," Tyler says, and she's one of the good parts from his time in Boston that he hasn't quite been able to hold onto, so he asks, "Can I buy you a cup of coffee?"
"Yes," she says with a smile.
They go into the nearest coffee shop and order cups of coffee they take to a small table in the back.
They do the short how are you part of the conversation, and Naoko shows Tyler pictures of her kids. They're adorable.
"If you're not in Boston," Naoko says, "where are you these days?"
"Uh, Allentown," he says. "Pennsylvania."
"Wow," Naoko says, "when you dropped off the radar, you really dropped off the radar. What are you doing in Allentown?"
"Um, this is totally off the record," Tyler says.
Naoko spreads her hands out. "Off the record. Totally."
"My partner plays for the Phantoms. He's why I'm here this weekend. They're playing in Providence tomorrow night."
If that's a surprise to Naoko, she doesn't let it show. "Good for you," she says. "How long have you been together?"
Tyler has to pause to do the math, and to think about what he wants to tell her. "[NUMBER] years," he says, deciding to go with the truth. "Off and on because of our careers."

The first time they have sex after Tyler moves in:
"I want you to fuck me."
Brownie pauses in what they're doing, hand tight around Tyler's thigh. "I don't want to hurt you."
"I'm not playing anymore," Tyler says. "It's fine."
Brownie puts a hand on his cheek. "I don't want you to be in pain."
Tyler rubs his cheek into Brownie's hand. "I really want you to fuck me. Please. It'll be okay."
Brownie does, pushing Tyler's thighs wide apart and fucking him as hard as Tyler asks for it.
Tyler's hip is a little sore the next day, stretched farther than was probably good for him. He doesn't regret it.
