Prompt Time!

This month has so far been terrible in terms of getting my writing done. I think I need to feel excited about writing, and right now neither of my big projects are making me feel excited, so I think that makes it prompt time. I make no promises about when, exactly, I'll write your prompt (although I hope to do them today), but I will write you something.

Quiet Time

"Victoria." Gabe's voice sounded terrible and he reached toward her.

Victoria was already ready for bed in just a sleep shirt and she was only looking for her iPod, which she thought she'd left in the lounge.

"You sound like shit."

"I know. Come sit with me. Your breasts will heal me. Even covered up as they are."

"You're such a pig." Victoria threw a blanket at him.

Gabe pulled the blanket around him, all the way up to his chin. He also stopped talking. Victoria found her iPod stuffed between the cushions of the couch Gabe wasn't sitting on. When she turned around, Gabe was looking uncharacteristically down.

Victoria sighed. "You want to share?" She held up one of the earbuds.

Gabe nodded without speaking.

Victoria folded her legs underneath her - probably flashing Gabe her underwear, but it wasn't like he hadn't seen it before - and handed him an earbud.

"Nothing of ours," Gabe said when she dialed through to create a playlist.

Victoria didn't put anything of theirs - or Midtown's - on her playlist. "Come on." She tugged Gabe's head down onto her shoulder.

He pulled one arm out from under the blanket and tucked it around her stomach. "Thanks."

Victoria patted his arm. "Keep that hand off my ass."

I'm so sorry it took me so long to comment after you wrote this, because it's exactly what I wanted from the prompt and was really good to read when you posted it last weekend when I wasn't feeling too great. I've wanted something like this for the past couple years but never thought I'd get it, and you fulfilled that for me! It's sweet, but still so them, and I just love it. Thank you!

On an aside, I've been kinda skittish and shy with friending since bandom split off but I figured if I already lurk and comment people then as long as they're okay with it it wouldn't hurt to be LJ friends? I just did the same with inlovewithnight and if you don't mind, could we do the same?

This is how we make friends! You are more than welcome to friend me, and please understand that I may not friend you back (especially right away). It's hard to say don't take that personally because it's your journal, but please understand that it is very much about trying to keep my friends list down to a dull roar reasonable number of people - no matter how much I would love to do nothing but read LJ all day, I still need to make sure I have room in my life for other things too.

Oh no, I couldn't take that reasoning personally at all because it makes a lot of sense! My flist has quieted down a lot these days, so I've been reaching out a little more to people that I enjoy reading stuff from, and whom I think wouldn't be opposed from the same from me!
