Ohhhh, that was a satisfying book. JKR has really learned to write.

I loved Snape's memories, and this: "But he was home. Hogwarts was the first and best home he had known. He and Voldemort and Snape, the abandoned boys, had all found home here."

Plus, you know, death and resurrection. Even if there isn't the disappearing body, it works as a heroic journey.

And the Malfoys. I liked that all Lucius and Narcissa care about is Draco, and that Harry and Ron save Draco and Goyle.

My one disappointment is that it was Harry/Ginny and not Harry/Luna; I still think the Harry/Ginny is a little out of nowhere and Luna's perfect for Harry.

Oh, I think Harry/Ginny would have been fine if she had actually given Ginny something to DO onscreen in book seven. I mean, in theory she was heading up the resistance in Hogwarts with Luna and Neville, but we never see that. I wanted to see more strong Ginny, or something.

I actually also like Harry/Luna, but it's so clear that Harry has to symbolically join the Weasleys, who are really his surrogate family, that I expect that's why she did it that way. Still, at least she didn't *also* pair up Luna and Neville; at least that's one less step fic writers need to undo in writing their own Harry/Luna.

And yeah, I think that line you pointed out--But he was home. Hogwarts was the first and best home he had known. He and Voldemort and Snape, the abandoned boys, had all found home here."--was definitely one of the best ones of the whole book.

That's right, you all called me crazy, but I was right! Bwahahahaha! Harry and Ginny forever!

Though I was disappointed that we didn't get to see Luna in the epilogue...
