Needless to say, there are spoilers galore in this post.
How I Met Your Mother
Oh, this was an awesome episode. Amy Acker showed up as this episode's past Barney conquest. At the end, the two of them do shots of tequila and make out on a bar stool.
Ted and Robin finally hook up, but we already know from a previous episode that she's "your Aunt Robin." I have this fond fantasy that the mother of the title is actually Barney.
I often forget how amazing an actress Alyson Hannigan is, but the last part of the fight Lily and Marshall have reminded me of it. The way she keeps saying, "Pause," and crying and then jumps on him was fantastic.
Prison Break
Ah, Prison Break. This week was the outside of the prison portion of the escape. The oddest thing about the whole prison break part of the show is that the music over the preparing to break out montage was the first half of the House theme song played over and over again.
And now the women:
Michelle Forbes is on Prison Break now. I had such a crush on Ensign Ro, so this makes me happy, even if she is on the wrong side.
Robin Tunney always makes me want to watch The Craft. As in if I could find it at the grocery store or Longs for $5.99, I would totally buy it.
I actually said, "Ohhh, Sara," out loud when they found her dead with the vial and needle next to her. Now all next season I'll be waiting for Michael to see it on the news. And I was so happy when they finally made out.
What this show really needs is an AU where they meet earlier, back when she's just a doctor and not yet an addict (I don't think they told us how she became an addict) and he's just an architect and they fall in love, and it saves both of them.
Grey's Anatomy
Oh, this was a good episode. So, so, so good. I cried my eyes out for the last twenty minutes.
Meredith and Derek fighting and then having sex again was finally enough to get me past JennyO and Mimesere's character hate so I can like them again. (I have issues with other people's character hate. I stop being able to just see the character and start thinking about the character hate. I think I liked Tess [O-11] the first time around, but I can't remember anymore.) And that last scene where Derek and Chris O'Donnell are both saying "Meredith" was so good.
The best thing about the episode is Alex and Izzie after Denny's death. Izzie, in her prom dress, won't get out of the bed with Denny. Alex comes in and tells her that someone who loves her like Denny did wouldn't want her to do this, and then he picks her up, turns around, and sits in a chair with her in his arms. I loved it.
The worst thing about the episode is Sara Ramirez's prom dress. Come on, people, this is an amazingly beautiful woman, and you put her in a dress that makes her look bad? What's up with that?
Along with season finale season comes fall season announcement season. NBC is canceling Conviction. I'm not surprised, but still. Boo to that! Brian and Christina had damn well better get together in the two-hour season finale! If you really want the best Brian/Christina moment (Their almost-date is not it. While that's cute, it's not the best one.), you should totally get your hands on "Deliverance." At the end, Steele lets Christina do the closing. When she sits down, the camera pans across the courtroom past the jury and the spectators and then to Billy, Nick, and Brian standing together in the back, all in black suits with white shirts and red ties. Then Brian gets her coffee and tells her how great she was. And then, when the verdict comes back, and she again turns toward the back of the room, Brian mouths, "You are amazing."
