Bunny of the day: Het Prison Break AU
Nov. 2nd, 2005 09:56 pmYesterday, after Prison Break, I skimmed the panels for BASCon (I'm not going, but I stumbled across a mention of it and thought I'd see what the programming looks like). There's a panel entitled "Prison Break: Don't Pick Up the Soap!" The description says, "The difference between Fox and HBO - prison rape is barely mentioned at Fox River State Penitentiary. How fast would pretty Michael have been prey?" That, combined with last night's revelations about Michael's mental health put a whole AU bunny in my head.
Michael gets himself into Fox River. He's very pretty (mmm, Wentworth Miller) and very naive, and, of course, one of the big, bad, mean guys goes after him. Stalking him at first, then getting more and more threatening, and finally raping him. Because he can't shut out any of the details, he has trouble going back to wherever it was he was raped. He keeps seeing the details of it over and over again. He's used to being the rescuer and not the rescuee, so having Sara take care of him, because of course she finds out, is also tough on him.
So he's falling apart and dealing with hitches in his plan and wanting nothing more than to get his brother and himself out of this damn place alive. He keeps going to Sara for treatment, and she keeps trying to get at the emotional issues.
Sara figures it out only at the last minute, too late to do anything, no matter what decision she would make about it. She tortures herself with worry about Michael, and Michael, even on the run and focused on clearing Lincoln's name, can't stop thinking about her.
