Happy Halloween! Welcome to the fourteenth annual edition of virtual trick-or-treating.

Happy Halloween! Finding a new door to use is always part of the fun of this.

I've been going very old-school and reading Sports Night fic, so here's a snippet for you:


"I'm just saying it's a lot to put on the shoulders of a seventeen-year-old," Casey says.

"Although they are broad shoulders," Dan says.

"Broad as they may be," Casey says, "they are still seventeen years old."

"Eighteen," Dan says, "when the season starts."

"Assuming it starts," Casey says.

"They reached an agreement."

"An agreement," Casey says, "that has yet to be ratified."

"It will be," Dan says. "And then Sidney Crosby will be won by some lucky team and usher in the new era of the NHL."

"Which is a lot to put on the shoulders of a teenager," Casey says.

"Broad as they are," Dan says, "you may have a point. He's only a year older than Charlie."

"This is what I'm saying," Casey says. "He's very young."

OMG, Sports Night! so damn fabulous - obviously, I need to revisit it as well

this is just plain wonderful - and so so insightful. poor young!Sidney, all that weight on his (admittedly) broad shoulders
