This week's movie viewing: Underworld. I really liked it, Brad thought it needed several more rewrites, and Adam was unhappy with the ending. Adam thought that if they were doing a Romeo and Juliet story, they should have both died in the end. It wasn't really that kind of movie, though. What I was almost hoping for was that Michael would die and Selene would have to become Kraven's consort. Did I mention how great the names are? Anyway, it wasn't that kind of movie either. I was also thinking about Erika/Selene and how Selene is so different from everyone around her. And how hot Kate Beckinsale is jumping onto the street from very high up in close-fitting black leather.

Also viewed this weekend: Better Than Chocolate. I realize this is supposed to be the lesbian movie, but it pretty much sucks. I do have to credit it with a fantastic attitude toward masturbation, which you don't see very often, but that alone is not enough to save it from its overall suckiness. I have to stop watching Canadian lesbian movies.

And speaking of dykes, I finally heard all of Clay Aiken's "This Is The Night" (I had previously only heard the first line because it kept coming onto the radio just as I was pulling into a parking space two or three times), which, really, is a pretty dumb song, despite the way the first few lines always make me think, "Had we but world enough and time, / this coyness, Lady, were no crime." And, really, "'Cuz every kiss is a kiss you can never get back." What the hell? It's not like you can only give so many kisses. Plus, he has this thing where all his vowels sound alike, so when you think he's going to sing, "arms," which would make more sense in the lyric, he actually sings, "eyes," and when you think he's going to say, "you'd be wrong," he says, "you'd be right." What I'd really like to hear him sing is "Any Dream Will Do" from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Lindsay, if you're reading this, tell the gay boy you know who was in show choir with Clay to pass that on.

drive-byness.

Yeah, Better than Chocolate really isn't that good. I recommend "But I'm a Cheerleader" which is campy and story-tale like, but good. Well, I think. :)

I don't think I've seen All Over the Guy... hm.

There's one teenage lesbian movie, I think it's called All of Her or somethign like that, that I thought was pretty good. Um. Anyway. My teacher made a movie!!111! :D It's called Treading Water and it's... not bad. Though I've no idea where you'd be able to find it.

Now I feel as though my pantheon of lesbian films is so tiny! I must work to rectify this. :D
