If I were the kind of person to have icons, one of them would be Bart Simpson jumping around the screen yelling, "Pay attention to me!" (Quick googling tells me it's from "Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy," but I couldn't find video of just that bit in the two minutes I allotted to said googling.) Anyway, I am combining this with my happiness commandment to ask and asking you to come talk to me in the comments. Ask questions, tell me about your day, outline a plot bunny in your head. It'll be a party! (Until I go to bed, but I'll be back tomorrow.)
Caveat: please don't post/link me to video. The sustained time and attention required to watch it makes me anxious. I know it's completely illogical that I would rather read a ten thousand-word story than watch a three-minute video, but there it is. Cat, Channing Tatum, and Star Trek macros are a-okay, as long as they are funny.

Date: 2011-08-27 02:00 am (UTC)Today I decided that were I to write an epilogue-type sequel to the golf AU before actually finishing the actual story, it would totally be Nick fucking Caleb at The Barclays, under hurricane watch. With a plethora of storm metaphors, probably. And then I was like, "Self, the hurricane hasn't even hit yet. TOO SOON." (The championship is in New Jersey, so they canceled Sunday's rounds in anticipation of Irene.) Plus, if I don't know how the story ends, I can't write an epilogue anyway!

Date: 2011-08-27 02:06 am (UTC)I would read it! It could be an alternate epilogue if it turns out the story doesn't work toward it. Also, this is always what happens to me. I start writing something in my head and then I write more and more of it, and then I get to a point where I'm done and then there doesn't seem to be any point in writing it down because now I don't care about the beginning part. (Alternately, I don't want to do the work to write a real story and don't feel like writing down just the good parts anyway.)

Date: 2011-08-27 02:54 am (UTC)Plot bunny in my head I might write if I weren't so wary of the fact that I am very much not British: John says something to Sherlock like, "You wouldn't be the first man I slept with. You're not even the first one I've been in love with," and Sherlock is surprised, for which John reprimands him, something along the lines of, "You can't eliminate what you think is improbable along with the impossible." And then he sighs and tells Sherlock, "His name was Peter. I'll show you a picture if you like. I was at Bart's, and he would be waiting for me when I came home. I loved him very much. He was stabbed in a mugging. It punctured his lung, and he was dead before they got him to hospital. I thought that going off to get shot at didn't seem like such a bad idea after that."
Alternate versions: in the romance one, this is just the setup for Sherlock and John to be together. In the Adjustment Bureau/Mycroft is a creepy mastermind/someone else is running the show version, Peter's death was just one of the things that had to happen to nudge John into place so he'll be there to help Sherlock get Moriarty.

Thing you will appreciate: my yoga class is through the local rec department, so I get their catalog of classes. I was skimming through it, and new this fall is "Playtime for Adults," which has the following description:My first thought was, "Ageplay. Kinky."

Ah ha ha ha ha ha, organized ageplay. That is great. That and Sisky Tweeting the other day about Mike being in a band called "Chew Toy." Oh really, how interesting, do tell me more.

Date: 2011-08-27 02:48 am (UTC)Mike got Sisky when he was just a teenager, before Sisky could form too many judgments, so Sisky thinks it's totally normal when Mike wants to crawl around the floor with a leash on. (He thinks it's a little weirder when Mike wants him to be the puppy and Mike to be his toy, but whatever. He still gets off.)

Also, I'm slowly getting back to being involved in an old fanfic site (the one who got me started and slowly taught me how to write!) and they're letting me put Empires on the site. SO I'M VERY DELIGHTED BY THIS TURN OF EVENTS.
