I really want a story where Pete meets an unexpected dude somewhere (like Starbucks or the park or Whole Foods) who is really good with Bronx, to the point that Bronx invites him to sit/play/come home with them. Eventually, Pete and unexpected dude fall in love and have sex on days when Bronx is with Ashlee.
The question about this plot bunny is: who should the unexpected dude be? A Jonas brother? ("You're dating a Jonas," Gabe says, with a look that says way more than his words.) Chris Pine? ("Captain Kirk," Gabe says. "Is it out of this world?") Peter Dinklage? (Gabe says, "I can't believe you found another Peter even shorter than you.") Suggestions welcome!

Date: 2011-08-21 03:37 am (UTC)"Mommy, me, Daddy, and Pete D," Bronx says, pointing at each of them in turn. The aide's not sure who Pete D is, and she has to move on to the next kid before she can ask. She assumes it must be some family friend or another kid Bronx knows.
One day, though, Pete's at a meeting that's running late, so Peter takes his driver and goes to pick up Bronx. Pete, of course, put him on the list of people who were authorized to do that months ago, so it's no big deal for him to go in and sign Bronx out.
He's even used to people staring at him, either because of what he is or who he is, so the aide's wide eyes don't bother him, and then Bronx is barreling toward him yelling, "Pete D!" and he dismisses the aide from his attention in favor of clapping Bronx on the shoulder.
"Little dude. Pete W's still in a meeting, so it's just us this afternoon."
Bronx puts his hand up for a high-five that Peter takes no time in returning. "Awesome!"

Date: 2011-08-21 05:22 am (UTC)'Cause I think they'd be used to each other, Pete loves hanging with angry music geniuses and Nick's totally inured to overly handsy dudes.
He probably wouldn't even realize Pete was hitting on him. After all Joe was always sitting in his lap, trying to braid his hair, kissing his cheeks - he just thinks Pete's being brotherly.

Date: 2011-08-22 02:27 am (UTC)Maybe Chris and Zach have this totally casual thing where they hook up sometimes but it is definitely not a relationship. Then Chris runs into Pete somewhere and brings him home, and Zach is like, "You brought me a midget? I didn't think you were serious about that."
Chris rolls his eyes and says, "He's not a midget, and he's older than he looks. Also, look at him."
Chris and Zach both turn to look at Pete, who is so totally okay with the attention.
"Yeah, all right," Zach says. "Midget, get your clothes off and come to the bedroom."
The weird thing about it is that it works. Bronx is used to very tall people, so he doesn't freak out about it, and they're both willing to get down on the floor and build Lego structures with him. Pete loves them for that, and for the way they so often put him in the middle in bed. (Years of being in bands have taught him how to get the hell out of it when they try to put him in the middle of arguments.) Zach and Chris are both so happy that their lives are so exciting that they're in a threesome (even if it is a very domestic one, energetic sex life aside) that they stop even pretending they're not in a relationship.
