Recs Request: Lesbian Fiction

I'd really like to read more lesbian fiction. I will take any and all recs, from any genre of professionally published work or fan fic. If you're reading this, there's a good chance you already know my tastes, but just in case you don't, a quick rundown of my recent-ish experience with lesbian profic: loved Malinda Lo's Ash and Huntress (review forthcoming) and all of Naomi Kritzer's work; hated Gerri Hill's The Killing Room and Karin Kallmaker's Substitute for Love; and am struggling my way through SteamPowered: Lesbian Steampunk Stories (although to be fair to the collection, I don't really like steampunk prose). Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions but, I've only just started to try and find decent lesbian fiction? I read The IHOP Papers and I liked BITS of it. There were moments where I got kind of teeth gnashy with the main character but I kind of liked it. I dunno, I wouldn't exactly say GO READ THIS, but...if you've got nothing else to read...give it a shot.


I'm actually going to remember these books you named so I can attempt to read them because I definitely want to read more, I just can't seem to find good reclists. (I either find lists with way too many titles and not enough summaries OR huge pages with...one or two recs. *facepalm*)

... That's not much of a rec!

I did a quick google, and was promptly discouraged when the third result on the page for lesbian romance novel is Karin Kallmaker's site. Malinda Lo and Naomi Kritzer's books are all fantasy novels with lesbian characters, if that makes them more appealing!

I know, I know, I know! But it's the only way I can think to describe it? Like, it was very honest, and I liked that. But the main character drove me crazy.

And ahahahhaa. And I will DEFINITELY be checking those two out, because HELLO, HI, FANTASY NOVELS ARE MY FAVORITES.

Malinda Lo's books are both young adult. Naomi Kritzer has a trilogy I liked, and Fires of the Faithful and Turning the Storm, which are two of my favorite books.
