Asking: High-Quality Cotton Underwear?
Apr. 10th, 2011 02:10 pmBack in the day I used to wear cheap underwear (Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, that sort of thing). Somewhere along the line, I bought some Victoria's Secret cotton panties, and the quality really was better. Now, however, it's been a few years and they're starting to fall apart. I could just buy more of them, but I'm annoyed with Victoria's Secret (both because of the image of women they project and because they keep enough stock in the store to be useful [I once actually said, "This is not worth my time," out loud and then left]) and they seem to have changed them so the waistband is scratchier.
Any suggestions for where else I could try?

I had to resort to Victoria's Secret last year for a proper bra fitting (do not even ask me how disgruntled I am about my bra size), but I wasn't happy about it. I still miss that one Jockey bra that I had until the wire came out (not that it would fit anymore, mutter mutter mutter). It was such a pretty light denim blue... :)
If organic-cotton-and-low-impact-dye type companies actually had storefronts where I could go and try their stuff on, I might have another recommendation. But there's no point buying an organic cotton bra if you can only see it on the internet, where the odds are slim to nil of it actually fitting.

Date: 2011-04-29 03:29 pm (UTC)I am set for bras - my local JC Penney has an amazing bra fitter (she looks at you and knows what size you are), and I like what she put me in last time. (Although I need new ones because I wash them in the washing machine, then hang dry, and the underwires are coming out of a few of them.)
