That was fun! I hope you enjoyed it too, or at least weren't too annoyed by it. (Only one person unfriended me during this time, and I suspect it's for other reasons.)

As fun as it was, it also took a lot of time and energy, and I only managed to make it through thirty-one days because about two-thirds of what I posted was already written or in progress, and two more stories were completely written in my head and just had to be typed up. If I'm going to do this again, I will either have to be on an extended vacation or have a huge stack of things piled up. I did write some new things, including answers to prompts people left me in the original project announcement/prompts post. I was feeling bad because [livejournal.com profile] megyal said over Twitter that she was hoping for some AHurls and I still haven't finished the story I mentioned in response, but I did write something else about Andy, so I even managed to fill that request.

Fandom is my home, and I really liked the involvement feel of posting things every day and chattering about them/asking questions over Twitter. On that note, I'm sure that in my effort to post things before bedtime, I missed thanking people who should have been thanked. So consider this a blanket thank-you to everyone who inspired me, answered questions, talked through my issues with the politics of what I was writing, and encouraged me. You're all amazing. Special thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] schuyler and [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish. I got to spend an afternoon with them in the middle of this project, and that, combined with the creative refreshment aspect of writing new and different things all month, has really left me energized and encouraged about my writing. ♥

The story whose reactions - both the number and the strength - most surprised me was Choice, which is something I wrote that afternoon, while still sick, because I needed something to post that day. I was glad to see people also really liked New Moon Bound, which is the story from this month that I put the most work into and the story I was talking about in this post.

I've been thinking a lot recently that I've reached that point as a writer where I often want to write things that are interesting to write, which doesn't always make for things that are fun to read. It seems though, from what you all have been saying, that sometimes they're also interesting to read. I love when you pick up on and mention things that I was trying to do without knowing if it was working - and when you pick up on things I didn't know I was doing.

My tasks for the next two weeks (I'm being realistic about the timeframe) are to add everything from this project to my delicious tags and master posts and to post anything that needs to be posted to a community to said community. Once I finish that, I get a cookie, for the value of cookie equal to lesbian steampunk erotica anthology.
