It's nearing school time, and I keep expecting to have homework even though I've graduated and I'm gainfully employed. This week, I realized how much I miss writing non-fiction. I'm fairly good at fiction, but I'm really good at non-fiction, and I need to be doing something I'm really good at right now. The problem here is that I'm rather unmotivated to write non-fiction without an assignment.

And so this leads me to make an offer. You give me an assignment for a non-fiction piece of writing, and I'll do the research and write it. You want three pages on the development of non-Euclidean geometry? No problem. A four-page analysis of The Deep End of the Ocean? Piece of cake. A one-page examination of the irony of Jessica Simpson's "Irresistible"? Can do. Tell me what it is, and I'll work on it. Perhaps you want to know something for a fic, but you don't want to do all the research yourself. Assign it to me. Maybe you've heard about a movie but don't know whether it's worth seeing. Ask me to review it. Maybe you don't even care what the results are but you have an idea for an assignment. Bring it on. You can make it as detailed or open-ended as you want.

Fine print writ large: I will not do your homework. These are extra-curricular projects that I will put up on my webpage. You cannot then turn them in for credit. I retain the right to refuse any assignment that I find completely unbearable. I will do this as long as I enjoy it.

If you're interested in assigning me a research/writing project, leave me a comment. I'll let you know when I've completed it. And, please, do pass this on to other people you know who may want someone else to do their research.

Well, I want to write some HP fic that involves fencing. Do you wanna find out some fencing info for me? It would be most helpful, and most likely motivate me to actually write the fic.

I seem to have forgotten to reply to this. Uhm, general technical information. I don't need any historical stuff.

Now that I think about it, I should have kept the Duende episode of HL.
