Thankfulness: November 1

For the past three years, following on an idea by kaygrr, I've been posting one thing I'm thankful for every day from November 1 through Thanksgiving. It makes me so much happier, which I think is due to both the reflection on thankfulness and the sense of accomplishment that comes from making a post every day.

Today I'm thankful for the colorful foliage on the tree outside my window at work.

You know what, this is a great idea. Especially because I've been feeling rather crappy today, it's a nice little way to throw in things that make me happy instead of dwelling on the bad. I'll probably try this!

I just went back and read Kay's original post when she did this, and it was for exactly that reason - she'd had a crappy day and wanted to focus on something good.

I will tell you a secret: my occasional random "five things I'm thankful for" posts are usually made on crappy days.
