Video Rec: How To Be Alone

Video on the internet kind of stresses me out sometimes. I have to stop everything else I'm doing and watch it. But the title of this one - "How To Be Alone" - caught my eye when someone I know posted it on Facebook, and so I stopped what I was doing and spent four and a half minutes watching it. It is a lovely piece of poetry.

This was really lovely and it really spoke to me. As one of 12 children I am a huge advocate of MeTime I enjoy going out to eat alone and going to the movies alone people think i am weird for this but they should try growing up in a three bedroom house where the only way you got time by yourself was if you went into the bathroom put on your headphones locked the door and ignored the screaming lol

I'm only one of two kids (and I had my own room from the time I was three), but I'm still an advocate of spending time alone. There is definitely something wonderful about being able to just enjoy your own company and not have to figure out what someone else wants to do.

That's a beautiful video and a powerful sentiment. I was all ready to say that I'm mostly okay with being alone until it got to the line about not hanging out with your cell phone. I am 100% guilty of doing that to not be alone.

I have no cell phone, but as much as I think I'm okay with being alone in public, I will often try to find something to do that makes it look like I'm occupied (like read the free weekly paper when I'm waiting for a friend to meet me for lunch).
