This month's nonfiction book was Michael Macrone's It's Greek to Me! which purports to tell us the classical origins of common phrases. There are some funny bits, but I started to lose interest after a while. I also have to question some of the things he includes - "Diogenes' Tub," for example, which is a phrase I've never heard - and I wonder how easy it would be to follow if you didn't already know at least a little bit about Greek and Roman sources. It's probably the kind of book you'd be better off skimming bits of rather than reading the whole thing.
