I ask this because I find it happens to me fairly often. You may remember the time that I ate junk food as soon as I realized I'd lost weight, and didn't make the connection until later, or the time that I finally realized what I write about and how it connects to my life. I've had two more similar experiences this week. (I promise to write about one of them before Christmas. I have to finish the book first, and I'm on page 398 of 456.)
