Prompt me!

As I mentioned on Twitter the other day, I like to amuse myself on my morning walk (and while going to sleep) by giving myself prompts. These have included such things as:
  • Bandom, a fairy tale about the next generation

  • Gabe and William in love, in space

  • Gabe rescues Pete, in space

  • Brendon/Spencer, in space

  • Brendon/Spencer, chefs, first kiss

  • Nick/De'Mar, with a Jonas brother

  • Mike has one threesome but ends up in another one

  • William rescues sex slave Mike, in space

  • Five times Gabe Saporta had kinky sex

  • Five people Gabe Saporta kissed

  • Five times Victoria kissed Gabe, in space

  • A story about Bronx, with a dragon

  • Nate/Alex, cuddling

  • Brendon/Spencer/Shane, pirates
(I really like space AUs.)

But why should I have all the fun? This is your chance to join in! Leave me a prompt, and I'll write you something by Sunday night. I won't promise to write you a whole story, but I will write you something.

I don't know how interesting other people's writing processes actually are if you're not them, so this might be one of those entries that's less for you to read and more for me to write. This does contain lots of spoilers for "Fighting For," so if you have any interest in the story, you should go read it before you read this. If you're not interested in the story, but are interested in the intersection of sci fi and feminist thought, you might still find the section on gender politics interesting.

One of the things I love about having other people read something I wrote is when they notice things I didn't even know I was doing. If you read "Fighting For," I'd love to know what you noticed in it that I didn't know I was doing.

Title: Fighting For
Author: Ruth Sadelle Alderson
Fandom: Bandom - Cobra Starship/The Academy Is... (appearances by others)
Pairing: Gabe/William (background Travis/Maja, Mike Carden/Kevin Jonas, Pete/Ashlee)
Rating: FRAO
Word Count: 20,000
Disclaimer: Never happened. Real people in a fictional world.
Summary: William was on the run from the Association when Gabe pulled him out of the battle and into Cobra Camp.
Notes: I fell in love with this story, and I hope you enjoy it too. Thanks are due to M, who asked at least one good question (and probably more I've forgotten about); [livejournal.com profile] schuyler, who provided a joke and a name; [livejournal.com profile] norwich36, who listened to me babble my way to a solution even though it's not her fandom; and the hand of fate that led me to draw "leaves" and not something else as my prompt for a "describing sounds" writing exercise.
