rsadelleApparently I'm the only one bothered by this journal being less fannish because no one seems to care about the fannish bits. I'm still on the fence between my Te issues and it being okay to be personal here, but I'm also inspired by a secret from this week's PostSecret--(psst) if we all gave freely and sweetly of ourselves we would all end up with MORE--so here we go.
Ten or So Things You Might Not Know About Me
1. I'm twenty-five years old, and I still sleep with my teddy bear. I sleep on my side with one hand tucked under my chin and the other stretched out on the bed. I realized several years ago that this is a lifelong habit because when I was a little kid, I had Teddy tucked against my chest and the outstretched hand grasped my blankie. (I was the child who had to be coaxed out of her blankie to have it washed.)
2. I am very much driven by my ethics. At one training I went to, we did an exercise where we developed a vision, and they told us that your vision has to appeal to logos (reason), pathos (feeling), and ethos (ethics, what is right). I was surprised by how much I identified with the ethos piece of other people's visions. A huge part of why I took the plunge and tried out the DivaCup, which I love, is because of the reduced environmental impact.
3. I love to cook, but I hate to clean up.
4. I have decided that life is too short not to wear comfortable pants on the weekend. I love the cross-over waist yoga pants, drawstring yoga pants, and feminine sweats from Lands' End.
5. I own all the fan translations of From Eroica With Love that were available at the time I got into it, and all the official translations. I'm fascinated by the way that what I remember being harsh in the fan translations is both funny and romantic in the official translations.
6. I can't imagine ever getting rid of my royals fannish items. They were pretty much my first fandom.
7. I own three colanders, two cheese graters, and seven cutting boards.
8. I own both the British and American editions of Connie Willis' Doomsday Book in hardcover.
9. I've given up on finding slippers that fit, and instead I've bought fuzzy socks from Target in three different colors.
10. I love transportation toys. I have a whole bunch of little cars on my bookshelves, I own three balsa wood gliders, and I sincerely regret leaving an adorable little boat in a hotel room in Santa Cruz.

CBS has picked up Close to Home, which is terrible, for the rest of the season, but they've cancelled Threshold, which is awesome.
