I went to see Serenity with my mom and my grandfather. I was a little disappointed with the moviegoing experience--I would have preferred to be closer and higher up in relationship to the screen--but I loved the movie. A few notes:

1. I don't want to go read what other people have to say because I know people are going to hate that Joss killed off Shepherd Book and Wash.

2. I loved the funeral. I especially loved Zoe's outfit. "If I'm gonna wear a dress, I want something with some slink," she's said, and the funeral dress was appropriately slinky. I also loved that it was white.

3. Most surprising vibes: Mal/River. I loved, loved, loved the scene where the blast doors open, and they're the only ones standing, her over a pile of Reaver bodies and him over his crew. Totally awesome, and it does make her a worthy match. I also loved the end when she says that she likes to hear him say it even though she knows what he's going to say and he tells her that love is the first thing about flying.

4. In general, I loved the end. Inara's maybe back, Simon and Kaylee finally get to have sex (although Firefly did make me want Mal/Kaylee), Zoe's grieving but okay, and River's as sane as any other Alliance-made psychic living weapon.

5. The merchandise I wish there was: I'd love a brown shirt with the Serenity logo over the pocket area and "I aim to misbehave" across the back. I'd also love a black shirt with "Can't stop the signal" on it. I will be looking for such things. I also have a wall that needs some decoration, and I've been thinking that Serenity crew photos framed to match the Spike and Angel photos on another wall would be perfect.

I loved the funeral too. I like Zoe in the dress, I thought it was fitting.

I took a passle of people to see the movie, none of which had even heard about the plot of the show, and they all at least liked it and several loved it. I found that to be an impressive bit of film making: die-hards love it and so do the un-initiated.

Ok, I know he had to kill off some people, and I felt we managed to do pretty well with only two, but I only just saw the episode where Wash and the Captain get tortured, and Wash dying right then came as a bit of a shock to me...

But my mood was completely returned cuz Kaylee and Simon got to do it! (And Simon looks much better than I thought he would with his shirt off! Yay!)

Oh, and I want a brown shirt too...

No worries about calling back, if anybody understands dry spells in communication it should be me. My life is super-hectic right now with school anyways, so I really shouldn't be talking to you (too much fun, and I so don't do my HW when I'm having fun)
