Report on November:
  • Write 50,000 words of book 2. - This really didn't happen. I was alternately rebellious and too chill about NaNo. While there was one day I wrote about 3,000 words, there were a lot of days I wrote nothing. I'm at about 9,000 words, which is about where I would have been on a regular schedule without NaNo.

  • Write 100 words per day, every day, of the Leighton/Victoria story. - Ugh. It's too depressing to even try to tally up how many days I didn't do this. On the bright side, even though I've hit a couple of difficult parts, I haven't lost the thread of the story.

  • Engage in productive procrastination. - I didn't do very well with this either.

  • Work on at least one thing for my bingo card. - Check!

  • Write miscellaneous snippets as inspired. - Check!

  • Post one thing I'm thankful for every day through Thanksgiving. - Check!

  • Say positive things on Twitter. - Hmm. I think I actually did pretty well with this one in November.
If I do NaNo again next year, I need to either be serious about it and actually do it or give up earlier. I didn't officially give up until near the end of November, and it was a huge relief once I did. Even though I wasn't doing the writing, I felt like I should be, which meant there were a lot of other things I didn't do and I felt anxious all the time.

December's goals are also quite ambitious, but that's mostly because I want to do all the regular year-end wrap-up stuff I do in December.

Goals for December:
  • Write at least 300 words per day on weekdays, except Fridays, and 500 words per day on weekends of book 2.

  • Write at least 100 words per day on weekdays, except Fridays, and 200 words per day on weekends of the Leighton/Victoria story. (I said before that maybe I could finish this for big bang next year. This is becoming less and less of a joke as time goes on.)

  • Spend at least ten minutes per day on weekends and 5 minutes per day on weekdays, except Fridays, editing book one.

  • Spend at least ten minutes per day on weekends editing something else.

  • Clean up and post all of my never finished fic for this year. Clean up and post my lingering two things I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] anon_lovefest and haven't posted here yet. Clean up and post anything else I have lying around that's ready/close to ready for it. By my count, this is 14 things (including the bullet point below), possibly 15 if I rework the bits of the Gabe/Victoria accidental marriage story that need it.

  • Finish at least one thing for my bingo card. This is quite possible: there are two that are almost finished.

  • Do the year-end fic wrap-up meme. (Or at least start it even if I don't post it until January.)
  • Write miscellaneous snippets as inspired.

  • Say positive things on Twitter.
