Listening to this now, I'm not so sure it holds together as a mix on its own, but it put me right in the mood to work on the story every time I listened to it.

1. Dude Looks Like a Lady - Aerosmith
Aerosmith. Crossdressing. Of course this had to be on here!
2. Jesus Doesn't Love Me - Dragonette
This story is drug free, but it does have sex (or at least the discussion thereof), rock and roll, and Jesus (or at least the discussion thereof). I also love the sound of this and thought it fit with the story I was working on.
3. Mouth (When I Kiss Your Lips) - Merril Bainbridge
The Google Doc had notes from me saying things like, "HOW IS THERE STILL NO KISSING?" This is Mike and Kevin's kissing song, and the sound fits with my all-caps question.
4. I'm Yours Tonight - The Academy Is...
They never get to actually having sex, but if they did, this would be the song for that scene. It still works, with the idea that they are each other's, plus it's Mike's band.
5. Fire Door - Ani DiFranco
I usually have a really hard time with titles. I get to the end of a story and spend forever trying to find one. Last October, my dad took me to see Ani DiFranco in concert, and she did "Fire Door" as part of the encore. I was still deeply engaged in this story, and when she got to the line, "taken out of context I must seem so strange," I thought that would be a perfect title, and that's how I've thought of this story ever since. This version is a live mashup with "Amazing Grace," both because it's my favorite version and because it's appropriate for a story that touches on religion.
