Exclamation Points!
  • Parker teaching a small child to pick locks! And then holding her on her lap later!
  • Eliot cooking!!!! (After all the fic I've read about Chris and Steve cooking, this deserves more than one exclamation point.)
  • Eliot showing how you would hold a knife differently to slice an onion and to slice up some yakuza guys!
  • Parker and Hardison! Both the cute thing with the dress and her telling him how she got out of the screening room!
  • "Have you ever been to Kiev? The Cakemaker of Kiev could kick all our asses, and this is the Butcher." Hee!
  • "Did you just kill a guy with an appetizer?" "I might have." Ahahaha!
  • Them all laughing and having dinner together like a real family at the end!
Also good, but not quite deserving of an exclamation point: Nicole Sullivan. She's always been so annoying, and yet she did a good job in this.

Also worth an exclamation point, although not specifically related to this episode: pictures! This one of Chris is the first non-PostSecret photo I've saved to my hard drive in years. (I also love this one of Beth, even if I suspect her face has been Photoshopped smooth.)

Two Complaints: One About Plot, One About TNT

I loved Sophie's opening shot about waiting for a man, but the rest of the Nate and Sophie stuff in this just didn't do it for me. I kept saying, "Oh, give me a break." I wonder how much of this is about the show being out of order - I keep thinking there needs to be more to it than just the two of them hinting around.

More annoying, though, are the ridiculous things that are obviously a result of TNT's continued insistence on showing these out of order. It makes no sense for Eliot to half confess to Hardison about the girl he almost married when they all met her four episodes ago.

I KNEW you would love the Chris cooking thing. I loved it too! Though not nearly as much as him beating off the Butcher of Kiev with a whisk. (And I also loved the "Cakemaker of Kiev" line, and hated the Sophie/Nate stuff. I muted the dialogue for a lot of that, I found it so embarassing.)

Parker just kicked almighty ass in this ep, between her teaching lockpicking and romancing the poor FBI agent in the van and telling the truth about the bridesmaid's dress and rescuing the mob guy.

Oh, I totally forgot about the out-of-order thing; that explains why Eliot didn't say "you know, the horse girl?" like I was expecting there. *Kicks stupid tnt*
