Today, I'm thankful that the boys and I have stuck with our writing group idea. Basically, twice a month (usually; there are times when it's a bit more haphazard) we go to Barnes and Noble and write for a while. In the time we've been doing this, I finished my high school cowboys-and-football (which became more football and less cowboys, and is really mostly just sex) AU, wrote various Eroica snippets and bits, worked on two of my I'll-probably-never-finish-this novel ideas, and made steady progress on my Ted/Barney mpreg, all of which brought me to the end of a notebook today.

I find that once we're there, it's so easy for me to write. It helps to be out of the house for a while, and Barnes and Noble has just the right level of distraction - it's not just me in the silence, but there's nothing I have to really pay much attention to the way there is when I write while watching movies/TV shows.

It used to be that by 8 every evening, I was sitting at my computer and writing. Since I've changed my life so drastically in the last two years, that doesn't really happen anymore, and I haven't found a good time to write, which makes the writing group time all the better.
