For those of you who are DW-only, I'm doing prompt snippets this week via Tumblr. Post with all the information.

Happy Halloween! Welcome to the eighth annual edition of virtual trick-or-treating.

Knock or ring the bell by leaving me a comment, and I'll reply with a treat of some sort. It might be a fic snippet, a picture, a song, or something else I come up with in the moment. My intention is to post all treats before I go to bed on Halloween. Lurkers and anonymous trick-or-treaters are welcome! (But if you're posting anonymously or with an LJ account that is completely friends-locked and you want a treat specific to your interests, let me know something about why you know me.)

I didn't cobble together enough holiday spirit to send cards this year, I'm feeling a little stuck on my current writing projects, and I have a few days off for holidays this week and next week, so it seems like a good time to do prompt snippets.

Leave me a prompt by the end of the day Saturday and I will write you something by the evening of January 4. (If there are a lot of prompts or circumstances change, posting may extend beyond this date.)

Fine print/guidelines: One per person. Lurkers and anonymous commenters welcome. If you're posting anonymously because you don't have an LJ account but I know you elsewhere and you leave me your name, I will do my best to write something catered to your tastes. Generally first come first served, although things may jump the queue depending on inspiration and what can be written at work. I will write hockey, but not Patrick Kane, Drew Doughty, or the Avalanche. I may write other fandoms; feel free to ask if you want something else. I may veer from your prompt. I will take lyric prompts, but be forewarned that I'm not necessarily good at them. This is for new story ideas, not sequels or timestamps. I make no promises about length, but in the past prompt snippets have tended to be 300-3000 words.

Knock or ring the bell by leaving me a comment, and I'll reply with a treat of some sort. It might be a fic snippet, a picture, a video, or something else I come up with in the moment. My intention is to finishing handing out all treats before I go to bed on Halloween. (And then sleep in on Saturday.) Lurkers and anonymous trick-or-treaters are welcome! (But if you're posting anonymously or your LJ completely friends-locked and you want a treat specific to your interests, let me know something about why you know me/what you're into.)

I'm taking tomorrow and Friday off this week and next Friday is a holiday, which means I have a four-day weekend this weekend and three-day weekend next weekend. I'm going to use this time to do what I love to do on long weekends and write prompt snippets.

Leave me a prompt by, say, Saturday morning, and I will write you something by the evening of July 6.

Fine print/guidelines: One per person. Lurkers and anonymous commenters welcome. Generally first come first served, although things may jump the queue depending on inspiration. I will write hockey, but not Patrick Kane or Drew Doughty. I may write other fandoms; feel free to ask if you want something else. I may veer from your prompt. I will take lyric prompts, but be forewarned that I'm not necessarily good at them. I make no promises about length, but in the past prompt snippets have tended to be 300-3000 words.

I am off work until Monday morning (woohoo!) and both of my long projects are in the editing stages (yay, I guess), which means I thought it would be a good time to do prompt snippets.

Leave me a prompt by, say, Friday evening, and I will write you something by Sunday night.

Fine print/guidelines: One per person. Lurkers and anonymous commenters welcome. I will write hockey, but not Patrick Kane. I may write other fandoms; feel free to ask if you want something else. I may veer from your prompt. I will take lyric prompts, but be forewarned that I'm not necessarily good at them. I make no promises about length, but in the past prompt snippets have tended to be 300-3000 words. If there are a lot of prompts, filling them may stretch into next weekend.

Knock or ring the bell by leaving me a comment, and I'll reply with a treat of some sort. It might be a fic snippet, a picture, a song, or something else I come up with in the moment. I will be virtually handing out treats until around eight PM Pacific Time, but if I don't get to it by then, I'll give you a treat tomorrow, or by the end of the day Saturday at the latest. Lurkers and anonymous trick-or-treaters are welcome! (But if you want a treat specific to your interests, let me know something about why you know me.)

Having a job again means I once again have real three-day weekends. It also means that as I've been adjusting to working, the only writing I've been doing is on very long projects (all three of them are over 40,000 words now), and I could use some creative refreshment. Therefore: three-day weekend prompt snippets!

Leave me a prompt by, say, Saturday evening, and I will write you something by Monday night. Fine print/guidelines: One per person. Lurkers welcome.

I am once again unemployed at holiday time. I won't be doing gifts this year, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to do cards. What I am going to do is once again post Daily December Treats every day this month. These might be anything I think will be enjoyable. Last time, there were a fair number of songs and recipes mixed in with fannish things like fic and picspams. This time, I am also going to try to finish off some fic from previous fandoms.

This post is where you can make requests! I will try to fulfill one request per person, although if you have more than one idea, you're welcome to ask for more. Requests can be as general or as specific as you want.

Knock or ring the bell by leaving me a comment, and I'll reply with a treat of some sort. It might be a fic snippet, a picture, a song, or something else I come up with in the moment. (I will be offering treats until nine PM Pacific Time, but if I don't get to it by then, I'll leave you a treat tomorrow morning.)

Pick a trope from this list and provide a fandom/pairing and I'll tell you something about the story I'd write for that combination (i.e. write a snippet from the story or write not!fic or tell you the title and summary for the story I would write).

1. genderswap
2. bodyswap
3. drunk!fic
4. huddling for warmth
5. pretending to be married
6. secretly a virgin
7. amnesia
8. cross-dressing
9. forced to share a bed
10. truth or dare
11. historical au
12. accidental-baby-acquisition
13. apocalypse fic
14. telepathy
15. high school / college au

I restrained my impulse to annotate this list (What is "drunk!fic" anyway? Is it just fic where people get drunk? How does that reach the level of a trope?), but since I've seen other people do it, I did cross out the things that made me hesitant to do this meme for fear that someone would want me to write them. I will take hockey prompts, obviously, and possibly other things - feel free to ask and I'll see if it's something I think I can do.

I haven't done this in a while, and I feel like my weekend could use some quality writing time, so let's do prompts. Here's how this works: leave me a prompt, and I will write you something by Monday night! I'm mostly writing hockey, although if you want something else, I will consider it. (And I'll let you know if it's something I don't think I can do and give you a chance to choose something else.) Fine print: One per person. Lurkers welcome. Generally first come first served, although things may jump the queue depending on inspiration. I may wander from your original prompt. I will take lyric prompts, but I'm not very good at them.

I looked at my list of things to edit/post, and there are almost a month's worth of things that would take really no effort to post, so I'm going to do 31 Days of Fic again this year. I was thinking about not taking prompts, but since I don't quite have thirty-one things, I will. However, I'm not taking bandom prompts. Below is a short list of things I could think of off the top of my head that I definitely know and will take prompts for. I am totally open to writing other things too, so feel free to ask if there's something you think I might know that I haven't mentioned!
  • Sherlock

  • Suits

  • Make It or Break It

  • Dance Academy (This is an Australian teen show I've fallen completely in love with.)

  • Push

  • Star Trek reboot RPF

  • Grey's Anatomy

  • Hawaii Five-0

  • Haven

  • Rizzoli & Isles

  • Leverage

Happy Halloween! This is the third year I've done this, and it's always fun.

I am less than twenty-four hours away from one of the greatest pleasures known to workingkind: a three-day weekend. Fourth of July is even one of the three holidays we actually get paid for. I thought that with the extra spare time in my life, and the fact that although I've been getting a lot of work done on my other projects, I haven't been coming up with much outside of them, it's a good time for prompt snippets. Leave me a prompt and I'll write you something by Monday night! Fine print: One per person. Lurkers welcome. Generally first come first served, although things may jump the queue depending on inspiration. I may wander from your original prompt.

It's been a while since I've done a post every day thing, and I miss it. I think I'm also in one of those periods where I need some creative refreshment. So I've decided that for March, I'm going to be ambitious and do 31 days of fic. I have a lot of snippets and things I'm never going to finish that haven't been posted here yet, but probably not quite thirty-one of them. This is where you come in! This post is for prompts. This differs from previous prompts posts in two ways: (1) You can leave as many prompts as you want. You can even come back and leave new ones if you think of them. (2) I'm not going to promise to write something for your prompt, although I will try to get to everyone.
rsadelle: (Default)
Okay, technically my birthday isn't until tomorrow and I'm not promising anything until Sunday, but that's not as catchy a title. I do have a three-day weekend, though, so leave me a prompt and I'll write you something by Sunday night! Lurkers are always welcome to leave prompts. I may drift from your prompt a bit.

I found [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish's intro post (friends locked) interesting, and I know there are new to me people around who might not know everything I think people already know about me, so it looks like fun.

If you want to know something about me, leave a question in the comments, and I will make an intro post answering them this week!

I'm very open about my life (this is my real name and my LJ and my Facebook link to each other), so feel free to ask whatever it is you always wanted to know. I'll probably do the intro post on Sunday or Monday, in case you want to think about a question.

Between a combination of vacation days and holidays, I have today, tomorrow, Monday, and next Thursday and Friday off. Theoretically, I'm using this time to work on my novel for NaNo, but (a) I'm just under 7,000 words, which means I don't think I'll hit 50,000 anyway and (b) I'm going to end up working on things other than my novel and they might as well have structure. So leave me a prompt and I'll write you something by the 28th.
